Pro-Russian activists from the Noname group continued on Wednesday January 1 their wave of attacks launched the day before against sites of French communities and companies, Franceinfo learned by consulting the message of demand on Telegram. The impacts are still limited.
On Wednesday, Noname057(016) hackers attacked several communities, such as the regional council of Centre-Val de Loire, the CCI of Hauts-de-France, the portal of the city of Montpellier and the departments of Eure and Aude. At 11:30 a.m., the two departments still had their sites deactivated, as well as that of the Ministry of Justice, and that of the Hauts-de-France CCI. That of Enercoop, a French energy cooperative, is also impacted.
The same process was used for this cyberattack. This is a denial of service attack, a method of flooding a specific site with connections until it crashes. However, there are no data leaks or thefts in this type of attack.
On Tuesday, among others, the cities of Nice, Tarbes, Pau, Marseille, Nîmes, as well as the departments of Landes and Haute-Garonne were targeted. The Paris public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation, entrusted to the DGSI, the General Directorate of Internal Security. In 2023, the sites of the National Assembly and the Senate were temporarily blocked by attacks from the same Noname collective, to criticize France's support for Ukraine.
