Long live the Republic, long live France and long live freedom, damn it!

IREF was able to obtain a first draft of the presidential wishes, immediately censored by his office. To our great regret. We have nevertheless decided to publish them exclusively.

My dear compatriots,

You elected me by default twice against worse than me in the second round of the presidential election. I didn't lie to you (or very little), because my program in 2017 as in 2022 was so inconsistent that I didn't understand it myself.

I was called sufficient, when I was only insufficient. I must confess that I was not prepared to reach the highest office, although my teeth scratched the floor. Certainly, unlike many of my co-religionists, I had dabbled a little in the private sector, but too little. And then, we won't do it again! We are not Enarque by chance and at the ENA, freedom is not on the program.

Yes, for 7 years, I have failed everything, absolutely everything. If you ask me to tell you about a major reform that I would have made, I would be incapable of answering you (and yet, I have a strong tongue!). It is true, among other striking expressions, that I had affirmed that the “refractory Gaul” could not tolerate reforms and that it was therefore necessary to carry out a “great transformation”. And yet, I haven't transformed anything at all. remains today what it was before my arrival at the Elysée: a statist country, hypercentralized, civilized, bureaucratized, envious, cautious. A “revolutionary-conservative” country. In my image finally.

Despite everything, I will have marked my time on at least two points: the budgetary deficit and consequently the public debt. Yes, I am responsible for the largest budget deficit of the French Republic in peacetime since 1789. Yes, I am responsible for the highest public debt rate in the History of France.

All true liberals suspected in 2017 that I would be a disaster for the country. And yet I was called liberal or, which is not the same thing, “neoliberal”. They told me that because I was young, brilliant, dynamic. I was even called the “Mozart of finance”, even though I was the most out of date public debt instigator and never understood anything about liberalism.

When I went to Mayotte a few days ago, stupidity after stupidity came out of my mouth. However, on the plane back, I said to myself, when I thought about it, that this was in fact a harbinger of what the metropolis could become in a few years if we continued on the same path. rhythm, to do anything, to master nothing.

So, my dear compatriots, I have decided to make big resolutions for 2025.

Because I have just turned 47 and I aspire to finally reach the age of political reason, I would like people to say after my departure from the Elysée (that some, I know well, wish as quickly as possible), that I was President, and not ridiculous like most of my predecessors.

So I decided for 2025 to finally work towards liberalism. Certainly, I also missed the dissolution in the summer of 2024. Certainly, I reluctantly had to appoint François Bayrou, an extremist from the center who, 25 years older than me, has never had the slightest idea. Well, I decided to spice up the Béarnaise sauce with liberal ideas!

I decided to take inspiration from my great friend Javier Milei, who lent me his chainsaw; I decided to take inspiration from my great friend Elon Musk, who entrusted me with his debureaucratization plan.

Yes, I promise you, in 2025 I will advocate for clear cuts in the budget. Yes, I will plead so that, after so many lost opportunities, after seven long years during which I screwed up everything, France will finally experience its liberal turning point. Yes, I decided to defend property rights, subsidiarity, civil society, dignity, responsibility.

My dear compatriots, in Mayotte I found my way to Damascus, if I may put it that way. I sincerely abandoned the arrogance of powerlessness for the demand for freedom.

Long live liberalism! Long live freedom, damn it!

Long live the Republic and long live France!
