It is with immense sadness that we learned of the death of Andrée Garabuau known as Dédée for the countless people who knew her. Andrée was an exceptional woman who dedicated her life to helping others alongside her husband René. A professional nurse with remarkable competence and natural empathy, still remembered by high school students and colleagues at the Lycée Technique d'Aubin, Andrée embodied compassion and dedication throughout her career. His commitment did not stop at his work. As an active volunteer within the Retina France association, of which she was the first local correspondent in Aveyron, she worked generously to support people with visual impairments. She also got involved locally within the ADMR of Rignac, serving people in difficulty. Her journey was not the easiest, she suffered the pain of losing her eldest son Luc in 2012, which was a great ordeal for her and her husband. Always attentive to the needs of others, Andrée knew how to listen, encourage and comfort. His radiant presence and his kindness marked all those who were lucky enough to cross his path. She embodied deep human values, combining gentleness and determination. His departure leaves an immense void in the hearts of his family, his friends, the members of Retina France and the associative world so rich in our beautiful department where conviviality still exists. Dédée was at the initiative, with Gérard Bertin, of the Rignac tea dances, medical conferences and other concerts and remained at the heart of all our joint actions. We pay tribute to her today with infinite gratitude for everything she gave to others.
Thank you very much Dédée. You remain forever in our memories.
