Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau announced that 90,000 members of the police will be mobilized on French territory during the night of December 31.

Bruno Retailleau announced this Tuesday, December 31 that 90,000 police officers and gendarmes would be mobilized for the transition in 2025.

Several thousand firefighters complete the security system for this New Year's Eve night. The Minister of the Interior was traveling to the police station, in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Their mission is to ensure security and maintenance while the territory is in “Attack Emergency” since the terrorist attack in Moscow last March.

“A million people” on the Champs-Élysées”

Earlier in the day, police chief Laurent Nunez announced that “a million people” would be on the Champs-Élysées to celebrate the new year. The Paris police headquarters has advised people wanting to attend the festivities on the avenue not to come with luggage.

Among these 90,000 members of law enforcement, 10,000 police officers and gendarmes are mobilized in Paris and the inner suburbs for the New Year's Eve evening.

During this trip to Aubervilliers, the Minister of the Interior announced the seizure of 320 kilos of fireworks mortars by the Aubervilliers security forces.
