Two accidents and the same cause, ice. Traffic was difficult in the Gard on the night of Monday 30 to Tuesday 31 December 2024 due to the drop in temperatures.

the first occurred at Barjac in the middle of the night. A car left the road and ended up in a ditch. “On board, 6 members of the same familythe parents and 4 children were taken care of,” specifies the Gard Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis 30).

A 2-year-old girl among the injured

But fortunately, “only” three of them were finally transported to the Alès hospital center (the 40-year-old mother, a 2-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy, slightly injured).

A few hours later, in the early morning, it was in Bouquet that firefighters rescued a female driver. His car, after sliding on the road, ended up on its roof. This 43-year-old woman was slightly injured.

The firefighters call on users to be extremely vigilant on “the secondary network roads made extremely slippery following the presence of black ice in many places.
