The Chamber of Crafts of the Fez-Meknes region approved, during its general assembly held in Fez, several partnership agreements aimed at strengthening the development of the regional artisanal sector. Chaired by Naji Fakhari and in the presence of the region’s wali, Mouaad El Jamai, this session focused on training, support for artisanal cooperatives and the promotion of local products on national and international markets.
These conventions relate in particular to the ecological development of traditional pottery kilns, the creation of a permanent regional craft fair in Fez and the launch of training programs adapted to the needs of the market. A partnership protocol with the Moroccan-Spanish association for economic, tourist and social development was also validated, marking an opening to international cooperation to boost the sector.
During his speech, the President of the Chamber highlighted the importance of continuous training and the adoption of innovative solutions to overcome the challenges linked to the high cost of raw materials and their availability. For his part, the wali highlighted the central role of crafts in the regional economy, recalling the authorities’ commitment to strengthening infrastructure and support systems.
The session also allowed the approval of the 2025 forecast budget and the validation of several key projects included in the regional development program. With these initiatives, the Fès-Meknes region reaffirms its position as a driving force in the Moroccan artisanal sector, while opening new perspectives for local artisans.
