Senegal set for historic year with record participation in CAF competitions in 2025

The year 2025 promises to be exceptional for Senegalese , with unprecedented participation in the various competitions organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). National teams, all categories combined, qualified for their respective CAN, thus consolidating Senegal’s position among the best African nations.
The first competition of the year will be the African Nations Championship (CHAN), reserved for local teams. The local Lions, defending champions, will begin their journey from February 1 to 28, 2025, in a tournament co-organized by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
In March, the U17 national team, also reigning champions, will travel to Morocco to defend their coronation during the U17 CAN. The tournament will begin on March 30, with a final scheduled for April 19.
The U20 Cubs will continue the program with their CAN, scheduled in Ivory Coast from April 26 to May 18. Meanwhile, the U15 team will participate in the African Schools Football Championship in Zanzibar, Tanzania, from May 18 to 24.
The Senegalese women’s team will also be there. She will compete in the women’s CAN in Morocco, which will be held from July 5 to 26, 2025.
Finally, the Lions of the A team will conclude this year of football in apotheosis, by participating in the senior CAN organized in Morocco, from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
With this record presence in all CAF competitions, Senegal shows the strength of its football and the excellence of its development programs.
