In Ottawa, a disturbing revelation. A gardener at the Senegalese embassy was awarded a staggering bonus of 25.468 million CFA francs. Between opaque financial operations and questionable management of public funds, this “jackpot” raises questions about the use of public resources abroad. The gardener, far from expecting such a boost, could well have taken… financial power!
In addition to the opaque financial transactions engaged with Ace building, the Senegalese embassy in Ottawa engaged in other troubling expenses during the 2019-2023 management.
Libération revealed that the state judicial agent had filed a complaint following serious irregularities discovered at the Senegalese embassy in Ottawa, by the State General Inspectorate (Ige), during the 2019-2023 management.
Beyond the disturbing operations between the diplomatic representation and the company called Ace building, other abuses have been noted in the management of public funds.
Top, a gardener recruited in 2011 and member of the embassy staff, will not say the opposite. Totally illegal, the latter was granted a bonus of… 25.468 million CFA francs.
As with other expenses, no accounting record regarding the payment of this bonus was discovered.
Note that following all his abuses highlighted by the ige, an investigation is underway following the complaint from the state judicial agent.
