Blood donation in Cabestany: an end-of-year shot not to be missed

Cabestany blood donation volunteers are mobilizing once again for a vital cause.

Sunday December 29 at 3 p.m., the cultural center, open from 1:30 p.m. for the occasion, will host a rifle like no other, designed to attract a large audience while supporting an essential mission: saving lives. “This event is crucial for us”fervently declares Stéphane Paya, co-president of the association. Indeed, the funds raised will help finance the numerous actions carried out throughout the year: awareness campaigns, events to recruit new donors and initiatives to encourage blood donations. “Without these activities, these constant efforts and the generous solidarity of our partners, our mission would be impossible,” he insists. In a context where the EFS (French Blood Establishment) is sounding the alarm on stocks that are too low to meet the needs of hospitals, every drop of blood counts. The sick and injured in life-threatening emergencies depend on these citizen initiatives for hope for a future. Supporting the association means participating in this fight for life.

For this end-of-year edition, the association has decided to innovate and surprise. Apart from the 7,000 euros in prizes, exit the traditional train of luck. Now for a special part that promises maximum tension: “A full box in one go and that’s two thousand euros to be won,” explains Stéphane enthusiastically. This daring format, unique in the region, aims to attract as many players as possible while spicing up the event.

A moment of solidarity

But beyond the promise of a big prize, the rifle is above all a moment of solidarity. “We must succeed on this day to be able to continue to act”adds Stéphane. The challenge goes well beyond the financial objective: each participant contributes to strengthening a structure which, through its actions, directly helps save lives. Between conviviality and solidarity, everyone will have their part to play in this beautiful human adventure.

For pleasure, for play, but above all for life, we run there.
