François Bayrou's government will fall “probably on January 16”, predicts Jean-Luc Mélenchon

Motion of censure on January 14

He promises that the LFI group in the National Assembly will table a motion of censure on January 14 if François Bayrou does not seek the confidence of deputies following his general policy declaration. And predicts the fall of the government “probably January 16, 48 hours later”when this motion is put to the vote. Because according to him, the other forces of the New Popular Front “are going to come home” after being “dismissed”.

He also brushes aside François Bayrou's proposal to put pension reform back on the table, describing it as “I like” the proposal for a points system. “He wants to save time. It would cause the country to lose money with a new major social conflict.”he says.

A supporter of Emmanuel Macron's resignation, which the latter has always firmly rejected, Jean-Luc Mélenchon once again assures Le Parisien that “only an early presidential election in 2025 will get the country out of the impasse”.
