During an exchange with the “Journal du Dimanche”, Sunday December 22, Enrique Martinez expressed his concern for the French economy. “There remains a lot to do for France to get on the bandwagon,” confided the company boss.
The cry of alarm from the big boss of Fnac Darty. In an interview with the JDDthis Sunday, December 22, Enrique Martinez, the Spanish president of the company, listed his concerns for the French economy. “Consumption remains sluggish, although it has picked up among most of our European neighbors”, he notably estimated.
For him, France must not sit idly by and act now for its own good. The country is in a period of political uncertainty, marked in particular by a new change of Prime Minister after the fall of Michel Barnier. François Bayrou must announce, “before Christmas”, the composition of his future government.
“It’s not taking off again”
“What we are waiting for is the affirmation of a real desire to develop the activity and make France a competitive territory”assured the director of Fnac Darty to Sunday newspaper. The latter is worried about seeing his group reach “the same sales levels at Christmas as last year”. His observation is clear, “it doesn't take off again”.
According to Enrique Martinez, France has the “role” of “black beast of Europe”. The president of Fnac Darty nevertheless remains confident. “Much remains to be done so that France jumps on the bandwagon and does not stay behind. And this country has many assets to get there”, however, he affirmed in this interview.
