This Saturday, the Saint-Pierrais Olympic Boxing School is organizing an exceptional gala. In collaboration with the karate club, “Clash of the Titans” will offer educational boxing fights. Roger Hélène, the president of the association came to talk about the event in C'est Vous qui le dits.

“It’s a reward for people who have trained all year”explains Roger Hélène, president of the Saint-Pierrais Olympic Boxing Club, when asked why organize a boxing gala before the end of year celebrations. “Practitioners will be able to put into practice what they learned during training.” he recalls.

“The clash of the titans” is the name of the event which will take place this Saturday, December 21, 2024. In collaboration with the Karate Club Saint-Pierrais, the event will last no less than three hours. Three hours of fights with a show offered during the intermission, to the delight of the 50 expected spectators. “The members of the Karate Club Saint-Pierrais will do a little demonstration with small fights. It's an approach for the rest of the Olympic Games. As for the public, we would like to be able to welcome more people. Perhaps next year, in another room.”

Guest of the show It's you who says itRoger Hélène returned to his attachment to the noble art : “j’loves the values ​​found there. Respect, intelligence, it's all the different styles that interest me. We can have much stronger opponents, but the one who hits the most will win. Touch without being touched.”

After 35 years of existence, the Saint-Pierrais Olympic Boxing Club is doing well. With its qualified trainer Claude Momerency, the association is not stingy with activities and courses offered. “The club is doing well. We are doing courses for young people, for women. We have put a lot of things in place such as the arrival of the champion Sarah Ourahmoune last year” underlines Roger Hélène.
