This soundtrack of the opening ceremony on July 26, recorded with more than 600 musicians from different orchestras, combines symphonic tunes and electronic sounds.
The fruit of two years of work
It notably contains the official theme of the Games, “Parade” – which was already available -, “SynchronicCity”, a piece dedicated to the builders of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral which reopened its doors on December 7, or even “Higher”, music which accompanies the ride of the mysterious rider on the Seine, as well as the title composed for the discovery of the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower.
Victor le Masne “delivers in this album the fruit of two years of creation for the Games”, with compositions which embody “the Olympic values of diversity, innovation and universality”, underlined Paris-2024.
Other iconic pieces from the Olympics have already been released on online listening platforms, such as the version of “L’Hymn to Love” by Céline Dion, “Nightcall” by Kavinsky alongside Angèle and Phoenix, but also “Mea Culpa (Ah! It’ll be okay!)” by the French metal group Gojira with Marina Viotti. Which is not the case for other notable songs from this ceremony, such as Lady Gaga’s performance of “My Feather Thing” or Aya Nakamura’s performance with the Republican Guard.
