He doesn’t lack humor. Alexis Carlier is better known by his pseudonym, Alcatela. The young illustrator has made a specialty of creating original cards. He made a name for himself in particular this summer by creating daily illustrations summarizing the program for the Paris Olympic Games.
Alcatela also wields the subtle art of church feuding. The artist has just created two new maps dedicated to the cities of Nancy and Metz. And what better way to make your cards known than to play on the eternal rivalry between the Moselle and Murthe-et-Mosellane cities? “What is the capital of Lorraine? For the moment Nancy beats Metz but the bets remain open,” he laughs on his social networks.
On each of the maps, there are the highlights of the two municipalities, but also the favorite places that Internet users can give to the artist so that he can include them. The illustrations are produced by hand then released as giclée prints on fine art paper: “Giclée print is a highly qualitative printing technique using pulsed inks which brings out all the power of the colors,” explains the illustrator. An original gift idea for all lovers of Lorraine… Whether they are from Metz or Nancy.
