This Tuesday evening, a woman, manager of a small Schaerbeek restaurant, was the victim of a fatal stabbing. The next day, the Brussels King’s Prosecutor’s Office provided details on how the events unfolded.
The Brussels-North police zone was called to avenue Diamant around 8:40 p.m., “for a woman seriously injured by stab wounds in the common hall of a home“, explains the prosecution. “Upon arrival, officers provided first aid to the victim while waiting for emergency services to arrive. The latter then took over, but the victim succumbed to his injuries“.
A judicial exclusion zone was established by the police and the public prosecutor’s office was notified. The Federal Judicial Police laboratory and a forensic doctor attended the scene. “The prosecution also requested an investigating judge. In collaboration with the latter, the magistrate on duty also went to the scene of the events.“
This Wednesday, we also learned that two people were arrested: “During the night, two suspects were deprived of their liberty and searches were carried out. For the moment, the role of the suspects deprived of their liberty is unclear, and is part of the ongoing investigation“.
This Tuesday evening, a federal police helicopter was deployed in the surrounding area, in the hope of spotting a suspect.
The circumstances of the facts are not yet clear. The investigation is underway. The prosecution refuses to release further information in the interest of the investigation.
