A new neighborhood will emerge. Last stage of the layout of the new neighborhood “Grand Canal” in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine), work on the market halls started on Saturday November 30, 2024. With an area of 400 m² and able to accommodate 10 cells, this new commercial space will complete the offer which is gradually developing in the area. This hall will thus be the 3rd in the townin addition to the Marché de Trosy and the Marché de la Fourche.
A rapidly changing neighborhood
All the work around this old industrial wastelandlarger than 5 hectares, started in 2015. Aside from the market hall, the last stage of the construction site, more than 1,500 housing units will have to be delivered, just like a large hotel, which has already opened its doors during the summer season.
The total cost of this modern building, designed mainly metal and glassamounts to 1.6 million euros, financed on both sides by Clamart and the Hauts-de-Seine department. “The project is also part of a revitalization of the neighborhood Grand Canal/Plaine, explains the municipality to Paris newswith the arrival of new housing, businesses and beautification projects of Place Aimé Césaire opposite the future market hall”.
A call for applications
“For the 10 stands available, it is desired to have a diversity of corporations represented, the selected merchants must be able to offer a diversified commercial offer,” explains the town hall. So, butcher, butchercheesemonger, greengrocer, florist, caterer, fishmonger or even poultry seller are welcome.
The town hall indicates that applications for these 10 new cells can be received until January 31, 2025, by post or directly by email to the following address: [email protected]. “We already have some proposals,” says the town hall. During the summer, merchants chosen by the city will set up their stallbefore the opening of the hall “at the latest at the start of the 2025 school year”, she hopes.
