Reactions which followed a post published on Facebook by the café on November 12, 2024: “We are currently experiencing a tragedy. Our friend and colleague Karen died Sunday evening in a car accident.” This Sunday, November 10, several vehicles were involved in a collision near Brec’h, on the RN165. It’s around 7 p.m. Very quickly, major resources were deployed on site to care for the victims. Among them is Karen, 34 years old and pregnant. She won’t survive the shock…

“I expect a lot from justice”

Placed in pre-trial detention since November 12, a 35-year-old man will be judged this Wednesday, December 18, 2024, by the Lorient court, according to the immediate appearance procedure with a deferred deadline. The accused is being prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter and for involuntary injuries with two aggravating circumstances: driving under the influence of alcohol and without a license (four other people were injured in the accident). “I expect a lot from justice,” whispers a regular at the establishment where the victim worked. As for Karen, she was buried last November in Vendée.
