The Parcoursup 2025 portal, which will open on Wednesday December 18, 2024, will attempt to provide more information for high school studentsin particular on the profile of the candidates most likely to integrate a given training or on the job opportunities, according to the Ministry of Higher Education.
With around 24,000 training courses offered, a figure close to last year, the portal displays new features designed “with high school students so that it is understandable and interactive”, the ministry was recently told during a conference. press.
Three developments from December 18
Three developments will be accessible from December 18, 2024, the date of the opening of the platform for consultation of the training offer proposed for the 2025 school year.
“An identity card” for each training course will specify the status of the establishment (public, private under contract or without contract), the selective nature or not of the training, the number of places available, and eligibility for scholarships.
Efforts have also been made to make more transparent the selection criteria.
Depending on the specialties and a given average, high school students will be able to get an idea of their chances of accessing training: “rare”, “occasionally”, “regularly”, “more than 50%” etc.
Vignettes will give figures on the profiles of high school students who have integrated given training, on the number of refusals, etc., during the previous three years.
Students will be reminded that they need to think about alternative choices and that average is not everything, in order to “avoid both self-censorship and overconfidence”.
A new calendar
Finally, “the calendar for the 2025 session has been redesigned to reduce waiting and uncertainty”.
After discovering the new training offer, high school students and students looking for a reorientation will be able to register on the platform “and express their wishes from January 15« .
The main admission phase will begin June 2 and the classification of pending wishes will take place between June 6 and 10 so that “a maximum of high school students can receive at least one admission offer before the written baccalaureate exams,” notes the press release.
Last year, around 945,000 applications were submitted on Parcoursup, according to the ministry.
