Lyon: a 3-star hotel planned for 2025 in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon

Formerly owned by the Saudi group JJW Hotels & Resorts, theformer Median hotel had been abandoned for several years.

Bought at the bar of the court by the Breton group Oceania Hotelsin 2022, this establishment nestled a few steps from the Édouard-Herriot and Léon-Bérard hospitals, in the 8e district of will reopen its doors in the month of June 2025Aftera year of work.

Entirely curated, the hotel has notably been the subject of major asbestos removal work. Entrusted to two agencies, the Archi-LS architectural firm and the Part de Rêve Architecture agency, for the design and all of the interior fittings, the operation will lead to the delivery of a 3-star establishment with 72 rooms.

Laurent Schoellkopf, the architect, did not touch the concrete structure of this R+8 building, of which the characteristic facade from the 70s and 80s will remain a strong witness, nor the bedroom cells.

On the other hand, he completely redesigned the circulation and distribution of interior spaces, with the creation of a small, fully equipped meeting room and coworking spaces.

We started from a healthy shell and we defined new spaces, in order to give a soul to this building, with new furniture and new equipment, warm tones, but also by bringing plants into the building.”

This new Lyon establishment will carry the new design concept (decoration and layout) which will be available in the future on all of the group’s star hotels.

“In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, we are already present under this brand, but in 4 stars, in Clermont-Ferrand”specifies Céline Chevalier.
