The former chief of general staff of the Senegalese armies, Army General (2nd section) Cheikh Guèye, who had held the position of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to Turkey since April 2020, has been replaced . He was also accredited to President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with residence in Ankara.

According to the official press release published at the end of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, a new diplomatic orientation has been decided. Sokhna Diop, Senior Advisor for Foreign Affairs, pay number 616 223/H, has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey.
