The famous Irish pub in the center of Cannes was the victim of a fire last night, around 2 a.m. Firefighters put out the fire around 3:30 a.m., but some fumaroles forced them to return around 9 a.m.
According to Christophe Souques, associate director of Ma Nolan’s, the fire was due to an electrical problem on the ground floor of the establishment.
“We suspect a TPE, buzzer or Pad battery which caught firehe says. The concern is that the fire went up along an electrical cable and spread between the wall and the wooden cladding of the establishment.”
“Try to save what can be saved”
The sound, video and soundproofing equipment and the false ceiling were seriously damaged.
“We will try to save what can be savedcontinues Christophe Souques. For example, beer pumps and anything made of stainless steel. We have to add fat so that everything doesn’t get spoiled.”
Due to this fire, the establishment will certainly be closed “between two and three months“, fifteen employees are unfortunately technically unemployed.
