What happened last weekend behind the walls of theEhpad La Maison des Buis in Grâne, in the Drôme ? Saturday, November 30, four octogenarian residents of the establishment ingested household products inside the establishment. They were immediately treated by firefighters and hospitalized. On Monday, December 2, an 89-year-old resident died. Another 85-year-old resident lost his life this Tuesday, December 3.
An investigation into manslaughter was opened, entrusted to the Crest gendarmerie.
The residents are not worried, they have been well taken care of. The staff will suffer the repercussions of this tragedy. We have to think about the families, there are these deaths, there is this investigation. The rest is going to be complicated.

The councilor knows the establishment well because his mother lives there. “Immediately, protective measures were taken.” he emphasizes.
A psychological unit was opened for residents, their families, and employees. When contacted, the management of the establishment did not respond to our requests.
The private establishment welcomes around fifty residents, some suffering from Alzheimer's disease. No incident had ever been noted there. The gendarmerie investigation must determine under what circumstances the victims were able to access the storage room and ingest these dangerous products.
