Un months after the attack on the referee of the match between the women of Périgord Club (BPFC) and those of at the Pont-Roux stadium, in Bergerac, on October 20, the Périgord football championship experienced a new episode of violence over the weekend.

Saturday, November 30 in the evening, several players from the Stella Jeunes Bergerac senior team were violently attacked by their opponents from the Football Club Périgord Center during the match between the two Departmental 1 teams on the pitch of the Yves-Chanaud stadium , in Cendrieux (municipality of Val-de-Louyre-et-Caudeau).

In the 20th minute of the game, a teammate from FC Périgord Center allegedly punched a Stella footballer in the face. Sanctioned with a red card by the referee, the alleged perpetrator of the attack then refused to leave the field and tried to fight with the player who had fallen to the ground.

A second episode of violence occurred this time at the end of the match, when three players left the pitch. The youngest of the three teammates allegedly received a punch in the eye from an opponent.

Commission de discipline

Informed of the situation, the president of Stella Jeunes Bergerac, Pascal Truel, immediately contacted the Dordogne Football District. “We all have elements that are more or less difficult to manage in our teams, but these facts remain unacceptable. We must say stop this violence which has no place in a football stadium,” he wrote in an angry post posted on social networks, Sunday evening, December 1, and since removed for “serenity debates”.

Determined to shed light on the facts, the District will meet its disciplinary committee on Wednesday December 4 in Périgueux. “This is a case that will be part of a disciplinary investigation, which can last up to ten weeks, the time to analyze all the testimonies,” warns Jonathan Blondy, the president of the District.

Contacted by “Sud Ouest”, the president of FC Périgord Center, Romain Demanuelli, did not wish to comment on the facts. He will refer, when the time comes, to the conclusions of the District disciplinary commission.
