“When Charente becomes Creuse, we must not complain”: public service unions are calling for demonstrations this Thursday, December 5

In Angoulême, at the call of several public service unions, a demonstration is planned for Thursday, December 5. The procession will set off at 10:30 a.m. from the administrative city, before strolling past the CPAM, the prison, the prefecture, the town hall.

“The State takes risks in dividing the population like that.”

“Everyone is invited to come with equipment representative of their activity, and to leave it in front of the prefecture,” said Élise Moreau, from SNUipp-FSU Charente. Like farmers, the operation is intended to be visual. “Because it’s booming,” continues the teacher who confirms that around fifteen schools in the department will be closed this Thursday.

Freezing of the index point, waiting period for sick leave, complete suppression of social dialogue for several months. There is no shortage of reasons for anger for Richard Gazaud, of the UNSA, who made a point of recalling a definition of harassment: “It is the sidelining and discrimination of people. And repetitive in nature. This is what civil servants experience from their minister,” he says, before regretting “the opposition conveyed by the government between the public and the private sector”.

“The State takes risks in dividing the population like that. Private or public employees, we must all mobilize on Thursday. When school will pay, or you will have to travel 20 kilometers to get there. When we have nothing left, when Charente has become Creuse, we should not complain,” concludes Michaël Lablanche.
