Three criminal cases judged in the coming days in . The fifth and final session of the year for the Maine-et- Assize Court opened today. A first administrative day with the review of the list of jurors and possible civil interests.

Two rape cases and one murder

Starting tomorrowjudges and juries will consider about a rape incestuous offenses committed against a minor by an ascendant and by a person who is or has been a spouse, common-law partner or partner linked to the victim by a civil solidarity pact and corruption of a minor under 15 years of age. The accused is already detained for another reason. The hearing will last two days. From Thursday, a person, under judicial supervision, will be tried for rape committed against a vulnerable person. Both cases could be discussed behind closed doors.

The third case tried was to be that of the murder of Paul Nourry75 years old, found at the bottom of a well in Chassaignes in 2021. His daughter, detained, is accused of murder in the ascendant, but the hearing was postponed until the next session at the end of January. Finally, the last case concerns two brothers-in-law, accused of the murder of a nonagenarian in Pontmain in North Mayenne. They were sentenced at first instance to 22 and 25 years in prison. This appeal trial will take place from December 11 to 18.
