A second accident involving a light vehicle then occurred around 8:30 a.m. on the A1, and a fire broke out, which contributed to slowing down traffic enormously.
“An accident is in progress on the A1, in the direction of Parisnear the town of Gonesse, involving a vehicle on fire. Two left lanes are neutralized, you only travel on one right lane”, according to the application Sytadin.
Sytadin described the situation exceptional and traffic should resume throughout the morning, with the application currently announcing more than 81km of traffic jams compared to 430km this morning around 9 a.m. A traffic returning to normal after a motorway completely paralyzed at the start of the morning in Île-de-France.
