No entry allowed. In Gironde, in the Hostens sector, the departmental domain and the Gat-Mort lagoons will be closed to the public for several days. The reason: wild boar hunts will be organized there. Because the population of these mammals requiresbe regulated.
A decree published
A decree, sent in particular to the mayors of the municipalities concerned, was published on November 26, 2024.
Thus the departmental domain of Hostens and the Gat-Mort lagoons (in Hostens, Louchats and Saint-Magne) will be closed to the public:
- Monday, December 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
- Monday January 6, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
- Monday, February 10, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A specific display, at the different entrances to the siteas well as in the town halls of Hostens, Louchats and Saint-Magne, will be carried out.
Some exceptions
“This ban does not concern people participating in the hunt under the authority of the president of the ACCA [association communale de chasse agréée, ndlr] d'Hostens, the staff of the Department of Gironde and the National Forestry Office, the public emergency and fire services”, specifies the Department in its decree.
