PSV’s line-up for the home match against Girona in the Champions League has been announced. Peter Bosz’s team wants to follow up the 4-0 home win against Girona in the billion-dollar ball against Shakhtar Donetsk. PSV will do this with Luuk de Jong in the starting line-up. The 34-year-old striker is preferred to Ricardo Pepi. Noa Lang also returns to the starting line-up after his absence against FC Groningen.

The American Pepi is in more than excellent form and scored a hat-trick against his old club FC Groningen last weekend (5-0 PSV win). De Jong missed last weekend’s competition match due to minor complaints, but will return to Bosz’s starting line-up against the Ukrainians.

As always, Walter Benítez is under the bar for the Eindhoven team. The defense is formed from right to left by Rick Karsdorp, Ryan Flamingo, Olivier Boscagli and Matteo Dams. In midfield, Bosz still does not have strongholds Joey Veerman and Jerdy Schouten. In the previous Champions League match against Girona, the coach surprised with a spot for Mauro Júnior in midfield and that was also the case on Wednesday evening. He is joined in midfield by Ismael Saibari and Malik Tillman.

De Jong is again preferred to Pepi at the front. He is flanked in the Philips Stadium by Johan Bakayoko and Noa Lang. The latter had to miss the match against FC Groningen due to minor back problems, but has recovered sufficiently for the Champions League meeting with Shakhtar.

PSV line-up: Benitez; Karsdorp, Flamingo, Boscagli, Dams; Mauro Júnior, Cybari, Tillman; Bakayoko, De Jong, Lang
