The day after the mobilization of police officers in front of the Fort-de- police station, the reaction of the Territorial Director of the National Police of was not long in coming. According to him, the staff situation “is taken into account”.

Pierre-Marc Fergelot, the Territorial Director of the National Police of Martinique reacted to the mobilization of police officers on Monday, November 25, in front of the Fort-de-France police station. The latter denounced the lack of support from their management, particularly during the recent urban violence.

The situation is taken into account because, personally, I was attacked by direct fire from firearms on the ground among my police officers. I completely understand and share, as a police officer, the difficult conditions and conditions of engagement. Measures were taken because reinforcements arrived, in particular the CRS. I was particularly involved so that we were able to have a second CRS company. We have also received reinforcements from the Judicial Police which allow us to deal with the increase in procedures linked to violence. We organized a whole series of operational debriefings with psychological support so that the situation of the personnel who are engaged, who are in contact and who have been injured, is taken into account.

The police also demanded his departure.

It is relative to the function. I think it is important to review our entire operating plans. We have a situation that is unprecedented. Somewhere we need to completely reconsider how to intervene when we are attacked with weapons.

Yesterday (Monday November 25), police unions announced new mobilizations.
