The day after a stage dedicated to sprinters between Gruissan and Nîmes, place for adventurers and runners who are aiming for the general classification of this Tour de France 2024, during a 17th stage, this Wednesday July 17, between Saint-Paul-Trois -Château and Superdévoluy.

Difficulty: 3/5

Starting from Drôme, the runners will have the impression of seeing the road constantly rising towards Superdévoluy, where the finish will be judged at the end of a final climb of 3.8 km) 5.9%. This will be one of the three difficulties listed for the day after the Col Bayard then the demanding Col du Noyer (7.5 km at 8.1%). Bonus seconds will also be distributed to the first three of the penultimate climb of the day (10, 6 and 4 seconds).

The expected runners

There are two scenarios to consider for such a stage. Either a group of adventurers will play for victory, or the favorites (Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard) will decide to fight it out. Already victorious in the first stage, Romain Bardet could try his luck again, just like Kévin Vauquelin , David Gaudu or Lenny Martinez. Others could stand out, such as Giulio Ciccone or Siantago Buitrago.
