Since September, the CEVM and com'com have allowed nearly a thousand students from 21 schools in the community to visit the viaduct.

Inaugurated on December 14, 2004, the viaduct continues to take center stage. After the numerous activities carried out by the Eiffage Millau Viaduct company (CEVM) in collaboration with the community of Millau Grands Causses communes and the Department, this time it is up to the youngest to celebrate the steel and concrete giant.

Students who were not born during construction

Since September, the CEVM and com'com have allowed nearly a thousand students from 21 schools in the community to come as close as possible to the monument imagined and then designed by the engineer Michel Virlogeux and the designer Norman Foster. “All these students were not born during construction, all have always known the viaductnotes the elected official for mobility Yannick Douls. It is therefore up to them today to make it their own. It would also be interesting to know their feelings.”

With accompanying speakers

On Tuesday, schoolchildren from the establishments of La Cresse, Rivière-sur-Tarn and Le Rozier were able to touch the giant of the valley with the accompanying lecturers made available by the CEVM.

“A very interesting initiative”, confirms the elected official who recalls the community's investment: 2,800 euros, dedicated mainly to taking charge of the transport component. “This budget is not neutral for a school. This is why we wanted to facilitate the movement of students.”
