“After the New Popular Front, we must establish a republican front to prevent the extreme right from coming to power,” reacted Pierre-Yves Jourdain, the day after the results of the first round of the partial legislative elections.

The EELV candidate of the New Popular Front has arrived third in the ballot in the 5th constituency, collecting 12,506 votes (21.28%)A slightly higher score than that obtained in 2022 (20.85%) which allowed him to reach the second round of the election.

Duel Houssin Duchy

The duel will therefore be played between Timothy Houssinoutgoing RN deputy who came out on top in the first round with 45.26% (26,600 votes), and Frederic Duchymayor of Les Andelys and Horizons candidate, with whom he won 24.39% of the votes (14,332 votes).

Without giving any specific voting instructions, the left-wing candidate called for “blocking the far right by all means.”

The latter was nevertheless pleased with a “small victory” in Vernon, where he won with 33.58% of the vote (3,395 votes): “Vernon is where the extreme right is least favourable and there needs to be mobilisation for the dam, it’s important.”
