Success of the end-of-year gala and positive results for the Union Gymnique Chalonnaise

The interview with President Jérôme Pelletier and the info-chalon photo report!

Saturday June 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Jérôme PelletierPresident of the Union Gymnique Chalonnaise, assisted by all the members of his sports association, had organized at the Gymnase André Rey, 3 rue Henri Dunant in Chalon-sur-Saône, the association’s traditional end-of-year gala.

Helped by numerous volunteers and licensees, more than 300 gymnasts licensed by the club came to demonstrate in front of a delighted audience.

Outside a barn and numerous activities were available to families.

On site, info-chalon asked President Jérôme Pelletier a few questions:

Jérôme, you and your teams, how did you organize today’s gala?

J.P : “First of all, we started this morning with the BB Gym for a small demonstration of exercises. Then, for those who want to continue, that is to say from 7 years old, there was another demonstration with a passage on the different gymnastics apparatus: parallel bars, fixed bar, rings, pommel horse, vault and floor. After the intermission, in the afternoon as you could see, we have competitive gymnasts from 9 years old to 30 years old who came to show their dexterity!”

Was the year’s results at UGC rather good?

J.P : “For us, it was very good! We actually managed to qualify 2 teams in the National 10/13 year old category for the French Championships in category A/1 which is the highest level and one of our teams came 7th. We couldn’t have dreamed of anything better, given that the teams ahead of them are teams that are already in training centers. As for the other team qualified in the ADN grand âge category 12 years and over, if they were qualified for the French Championships, they were unable to participate in the competition due to numerous injuries before the competition (3 injured out of 6)!”

And at the individual level?

J.P : UGC can boast of having a Vice-champion of France in 10 years with Arthin Kewan ! Ensuite, Lucas Pelletier who finished 15th in the French Elite Championships, Leandre Renaud who came 3rd in the French 12-year-old Championships… then all the others Philemon 14th, Djibril…!”

On departmental, regional and interregional championships?

J.P : “In these types of championships, the UGC often shines by winning numerous titles and many podiums. No, I can confirm that this year has been a high level year for us and the results are very positive!”
