Representatives of Jewish institutions in France want “neither RN nor LFI”.

Press release from the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France dated July 2, 2024:

True to its historical commitments, the CRIF calls on the French to mobilize to prevent the National Rally from coming to power by voting massively for candidates from democratic and republican parties, and to categorically refuse any compromise with La France Insoumise.

Faced with the threat of an absolute majority of the RN, LFI is not part of the solution but part of the problem. Its anti-Semitic provocations and its strategy of chaos, by fueling the fears of the French, have made the rejection of LFI the electoral fuel for the rise of the RN.

The prospect of an absolute majority for the RN constitutes a threat to the Republic and its emancipatory and universalist project. Never in history have populist or nationalist projects been a bulwark against the rise of anti-Semitism and hatred.

Only a clear republican line will prevent the RN from coming to power on Sunday.

The presence of Rima Hassan alongside Jean-Luc Mélenchon on Sunday evening once again demonstrates LFI’s communitarian and clientelist strategy.

There is still time for all Republican candidates to lead the fight against the RN while denouncing LFI and all anti-Semitic complacency.
