Cambrai (Ligue B): 2
Alterna Stade Poitevin (MSL): 3
The Alterna Stade Poitevin traveled this Tuesday, November 26, to Cambrai, on the occasion of the 1is Coupe de France round.
And the Poitevins have validated their qualification for the 8e of the final by winning in the North, even if this unbalanced duel on paper between the second in MSL and the fifth in the League was much less so on the field.
With Thomas Pujol holding the lead, the Alterna SPVB had in any case started this match well by winning the first set (18-25). The second was, however, more complicated and the Northerners fully deserved to equalize (25-21).
And if Dan Lewis' protégés rectified the situation in the following round to regain the advantage (18-25), the Cambrésiens had not said their last word and, despite the entries of Hanzic, Roatta, Byam and Gill , raced ahead in the fourth set before winning it (25-21) and pushing Alterna SPVB to the tie-break which ultimately turned in favor of Earvin Ngapeth and his partners (11-15).
The Poitevins will therefore be there for the 8e final on January 7.
