In the 1st constituency of Calvados, we are moving towards a triangular. Joël Bruneau (various right) comes first with more than 45% of the votes cast. The mayor of Caen has 4,347 votes more than the candidate of the New Popular Front, Emma Fourreau (34.82%). Third and qualified for the second round – but will she keep up? – the RN candidate, Ludivine Daoudi with 19.95%.
If Ludivine Daoudi withdraws, everything would depend on the transfer of votes from the RN.
Bruneau: “still a lot of reasonable people”
“I think the work we’re doing here with the whole team must have worked in my favor. But it wasn’t a given,” reacted Joël Bruneau.
“In the current context, I feared a sort of polarization between the two somewhat extreme blocs. I note that there are still many reasonable people who do not necessarily vote for the promises made to them, but according to the quality of the proposals and the profile of the candidates.”
In this election it was necessary that my personal profile could play a role, which is never won in a national election. I tend to think that the work I’ve been doing here for years has some sort of reward, some legitimacy. I have always believed in that: sincerity, telling people the truth, no untenable promises…
