Cap d’Agde: naturists took advantage of the forbidden dunes of the Bagnas nature reserve, nine fines

In the Baie des Cochons area, the operation served to remind people of certain rules in force within the Bagnas nature reserve, which adjoins the naturist beach, between Cap d’Agde and Marseillan.

Nearly 28 people – municipal police officers from Agde and Marseillan, gendarmes from Marseillan and Clermont-l’Hérault, coastal guards from the Agglo, an officer from the Bagnas reserve and two from the French Biodiversity Office – took part in a check on the attendance of the dune area of the Bagnas nature reserve, located behind the naturist beach of Cap d’Agde and strictly closed to the public. A ban that not all bathers comply with, which is also the purpose of this operation, which served as a reminder of the proper use of the area, so to speak.

A naturist fined twice!

Two separate teams patrolled the area: one from the Oltra campsite, the other on the Marseillan side, from the Beach Garden campsite. And if, as in the film “Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez”, offenders were able to raise the alarm, allowing others to escape, nine fines were issued, ranging from €135 to €265! Once the mission briefing was completed, a new patrol returned to the area and issued six additional fines, including one to a naturist who had already been fined a few minutes before, bringing the total to fifteen fines.
