Legislative elections in Clermont-Cournon: “great chance” that Hervé Prononce (Ensemble) will be in the running in the second round

Will there be a three-way race in the second round of the legislative elections in the Clermont-Cournon constituency? It is very likely. Third in the first round, Hervé Prononce (Ensemble) announces that there is a “great chance” that he will be in the running. Sébastien Galpier (Les Républicains candidate) is already calling for a vote for the mayor of Cendre.

With 38.14% of the vote, Marianne Maximi (LFI/New Popular Front) came out on top in the first round of the legislative elections in the first constituency of Puy-de-Dôme (Clermont-Cournon) this Sunday evening. The outgoing MP came ahead of Louis Clément (RN, 27.49%), Hervé Prononce (Horizons/Ensemble, 24.08%), Sébastien Galpier (LR, 8.95%) and Dominique Leclair (1.34%).

The first three mentioned are therefore qualified for the second round. At present, a three-way race is more than likely. “The discussion is ongoing, but there is a good chance that I will be in the second round,” announced Hervé Prononce this Sunday evening, who explained that he is following the line taken by the head of Horizons, Edouard Philippe, who considered this Sunday evening that “no vote” should “be cast for the candidates of the National Rally, nor for those of La France Insoumise.”

And the mayor of Cendre added: “We have a score well above the average of the Ensemble candidates. We are not far from second place, the useful vote on the Republican arc therefore worked, but LR handicapped us by a few points…”

For his part, LR candidate Sébastien Galpier took a position this Sunday evening: he calls to vote for Hervé Prononce next Sunday.
