LR Nicolas Ray comes out on top in the third constituency of Allier

The outgoing deputy for the 3rd constituency of Vichy, Nicolas Ray (LR), came first in the first round of the early legislative elections this evening. Rémy Quenet, candidate of the National Rally, is also qualified. In third position and able to maintain her position, the representative of the New Popular Front announced her withdrawal, to block the RN.

The results are in, in the third constituency of Allier. The outgoing deputy Nicolas Ray (LR), takes the lead, with 40.05% of the votes, with 21,464 votes, 11,870 more than in 2022 (24.22%). More than double.

In particular, it largely performed well in the three large municipalities of the agglomeration, Vichy (44.92%), Cusset (40.57%) and Bellerive-sur-Allier (47.04%), a municipality in which it is a municipal councilor.

The incumbent also benefited from a sharp increase in participation, to 69.08%, compared to 50.65% two years ago.

2024 legislative elections: a participation rate of 58.29% at 5 p.m. in Vichy

But the National Rally also benefited from this citizen wave, as well as from the momentum of its party at the national level. Its candidate, Rémy Queney, totaled 37.82% of the votes, 20,270 ballots, or 12,223 more than Quentin Julien’s score in 2022 (20.31%).

Coming in third place with 20.40%, and in a position to hold on, the socialist Aline Jeudi, representative of the New Popular Front, announced shortly after the results were announced that she was withdrawing, calling for a blockade of the National Rally.

The fourth candidate, Jean-François Rameau, received 1.72% of the votes.

So it’s a duel that’s coming up next Sunday between Nicolas Ray and Rémy Queney.
