25 ways to make the most of the Olympic Games

After introducing you to the 50 French athletes and 30 international stars to watch at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the hype surrounding the event has gone up another notch. So, with 25 days to go until the opening ceremony, we thought we’d give you 25 tips to make the most of these Games!

  • Place RTTs! To watch everything, there is no secret, you have to be quiet at home.
  • Buy a sports mat. You won’t be going out for 15 days, so to help you feel less guilty about this lack of physical activity, abdominal strengthening exercises while looking at the television are highly recommended.
  • Buy a huge stock of drinks and put it in the fridge. It should be hot, it’s important to stay hydrated.
  • Go down to the cellar now to get the old fan lying around, it will quickly become your best friend.
  • Besides, remember to be well equipped in the cellar. Red, white or rosé can be a good aperitif in front of Lebrun and table tennis. Warning, Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health.
  • And fill the ice cube trays. Did we mention it might be hot?
  • Orient your TV screen so that no sunlight obstructs your view. It would be silly to miss a buzzer-beater from Bilal Coulibaly anyway.
  • Find out now about the great stories of certain athletes to make your cat believe that you are a specialist.
  • Do vocal exercises every morning. Vocal cords need to be maintained. We don’t want to risk extinction after the first French feat.
  • Sleep! Right now. Get hours ahead. You will need to be wide awake to follow everything for 15 days. Coming out of shape would be very dangerous. A nap at the wrong time is unforgivable.
  • Get to know the guys from the French 3×3 Team, they’re friends, they’re nice.
  • Choose products that are easy to cook and, if possible, good for your health. The temptation for frozen chips and pizzas will be great. Will you be able to resist him?
  • Check in with your families before the competition and politely let them know that information about this or that athlete can be found on the internet. You can’t spend the event being the Wikipedia of sports!
  • If you are a Parisian, sharpen your elbows. You will need them if, unfortunately, you have to enter a metro!
  • Activate the bell on TrashTalk Twitter account. We will try to support you as best we can over the fortnight and to inform you as best we can (not necessarily only about basketball…)
  • Make sure you have a supply of batteries for the remote control. There will be many switches, they will be put to use.
  • Set a wallpaper with your favorite Olympic athlete. This way, every glance at your small screen will instantly raise the hype!
  • Even before the competition, don’t hesitate to watch Wimbledon, the Tour de France, or the preparation matches of the French basketball teams, you have to get your eye used to watching sport, expertise can be worked on.
  • Take five minutes before July 27th to review the rules of volleyball, equation or decathlon depending on your level of expertise, it can help.
  • Bring sunscreen, a nice hat and comfortable flip-flops if you plan to combine sports and the beach. And bring a small umbrella so you don’t expose your phone to UV rays.
  • If you were lucky enough to get a precious ticket to the events, shout for 65 million people. You represent the French, show that we know how to make a mess!
  • Before sitting in front of the TV, do relaxation exercises. Yes, consultants will make mistakes even though that’s their job, yes, they are paid for that, that’s no reason to insult their parents.
  • Another piece of advice for Parisians. If you think about taking the car to do your shopping because “it will go faster.” Spoiler, it won’t go any faster.
  • Freediving to experience an event with more intensity is good when it’s a 100m, less so when it’s a marathon.
  • Follow TrashTalk’s Twitch channel, there might be some (big) surprises!
