Former professional cyclist, Pascal Campionthe time for sporting retirement having come, had become entrepreneur.
The champion had participated in several races in the United States, and it was in America that he discovered what would be his future profession: the installation of water purifiers.
In 1990, he founded his company in Guipavas, Aquaself, sold five years ago to two of his employees.
SAINT PIERRE
My childhood neighborhood
I grew up in this neighborhood. I used to go and get tadpoles at the Margot fountain! I also remember the Grand Prix de Saint-Pierre: it was the chance of a lifetime to take part. But the next day, I had to take my French baccalaureate. I was at Insep in Paris. I arrived two days late for my baccalaureate. Needless to say, I wasn’t very well received: “If you prefer cycling, cycle; but studying isn’t for you.” I dropped out and went to do my military service.
THE DAJOT COURSE
My beginnings
The place, which overlooks the harbor, is magnificent. I won the Six Days of Brest on a scooter, which allowed me to win my first bike. During another race, still during the Dajot course, I was spotted by Father Menthéour and I was thus able to get my first contract with the Mercier cycles as a cadet.
THE MOULIN-BLANC
My sight
Moulin-Blanc is never the same. I am lucky enough to be able to have breakfast with
view of the windsurfers training below.
I am in awe of how fast they go on the water.
POINTE SAINT-MATHIEU
A truly beautiful outing
It was my Monday outing after the Sunday race. I passed by the Minou and all the climbs close to the sea. It is a landscape that you can pass a thousand times and each time it seems different.
