At the end of April, Alain Dumontet, deputy mayor responsible for youth policy, and Yanne Picaut, director of AFPA Toulon-La Valette, formalized the partnership between the City of La Garde, the youth service and AFPA.

The signing took place in the presence of young guards and Mourath Ndaw, director of the Coudon local mission in Gapeau, as part of the “Promo 16/18” program.

Launched in late 2020, “ Promo 16/18 » is part of the “#1jeune1solution Plan” to combat school dropout. The aim of the scheme is to restore young people’s confidence and help them find their way through the various workshops offered in AFPA centres throughout France. By signing this agreement, La Garde and the youth service are joining the scheme. This means that the AFPA teams are provided with various research tools relating to employment and training, installed at the Maison de la jeunesse (digital equipment, virtual reality headset to discover hundreds of professions, etc.).

TOGETHER

Thus, young people benefit, for 4 months, from the attentive supervision of teams composed of professionals, trainers, facilitators and advisors, and actively participate in group workshops and various fun, cultural, sports and professional activities. These initiatives aim to strengthen autonomy, arouse curiosity and highlight the strengths of each person in order to develop their self-confidence and promote the construction of their professional project. Each course is personalized and offers caring support to guide young people towards their future!

Concretely, it is a network of 2,000 partners spread throughout the territory including the Local Missions. Actors in social support, training, businesses, cultural and artistic sports associations work to support young people, whatever their profile or project in order to help them reveal their talents and build their professional future.
