Opening, sweeping the track and nevertheless achieving the best times: Ott Tänak (Hyundai i20 N Rallye1), was finally able to show what he is made of on this type of special. On the first morning passages, the Estonian left only a few swirls of dust for his opponents. Victim of an accident during the first special on Friday, the Estonian finally gave up the Saturday afternoon loop in order to prepare thoroughly for this Super Sunday likely to bring him twelve points in the championship in order to limit the damage of a catastrophic start to the weekend.

Behind his teammate, Thierry Neuville took advantage of the first two Sunday specials to gain two additional places in the general classification. The hundredth separating him from Martins Sesks (Ford Puma Rally1) was only a formality. It took a puncture from his other teammate, Andreas Mikkelsen, still fighting for overall victory, to see the championship leader progress to the foot of the podium, behind Adrien Fourmaux (Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid) who was still as consistent.

At the head of the race, Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) seems to have won the race, since he is 18 seconds ahead of his teammate Elfyn Evans. Unless directives come to reverse these positions, the Finn will achieve the feat of winning a world rally about which he knew nothing, without the slightest preparation.

In the championship, if everything remains in place until the finish and excluding points from the Power Stage, Thierry Neuville would therefore concede a total of 6 points on Evans and would be more or less on par with Tänak, who will have only competed in 8 of the 19 special stages on the program for this Rally of Poland.
