A fire broke out in a Muret nursing home (Haute-Garonne), near Toulouse, on the night of June 29 to 30, 2024.
Mattress fire
It was actually a mattress fire that triggered the emergency call. A fire that had been controlled by establishment staff before the firefighters arrived.
According to information provided by the fire brigade, three people were still poisoned by the fumes: the tenant of the room and two members of staff.
Evacuated to the CHU
The tenant of the room, a 65-year-old woman, was evacuated to Purpan. On the personnel side, a 50-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were transported to Rangueil University Hospital.
The establishment’s health manager went to the site to replace staff and thus maintain activity. Firefighters carried out reconnaissance in the building to rule out any risks linked to smoke.
28 firefighters were mobilized on site.
