Organised by Croix-Rouge Compétence as part of the Terre de jeux 2024 label, the “Foulées rouges” brought together around fifty employees and learners from the Moulins Training Institute, who had mobilised for the event, at the Hector-Rolland stadium.

Less than a month before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Croix-Rouge Compétence training site in Moulins, headed by Céline Didier, had pulled out all the stops for the “Foulées rouges”, a project born as part of the Terre de jeux 2024 program, which allows local stakeholders to get involved in the dynamics of the 2024 Olympic Games.

28,000 km traveled in total in France

The “Foulées rouges” are also part of the major national cause “Bouge chaque jour”, dedicated to the promotion of physical and sporting activity, with Croix-Rouge Compétence committing to promoting sport-health in its establishments.

This national event, which aims to virtually connect thirty Red Cross Competence training sites, covering a total of 6,000 kilometers, but also to promote healthy sport and encourage physical activity for all, was a great success on and around the Moulinoise track since more than fifty employees and learners from the Moulinois institute responded among the 5,000 participants expected throughout France.

Promote healthy sport

The principle of the “Red Runs” was simple. The participants, many of them dressed in red in reference to the French Red Cross, were invited to run or walk together over the distance of their choice and at their own pace. With nearly 300 kilometers covered, the Moulinois institute largely contributed to the success of this initiative, which was part of the Terre de jeux 2024 project.

The event also aimed to raise awareness among future health, social and medico-social professionals of the importance of regular physical activity in order to combat a sedentary lifestyle.

On the sidelines of the event, former professional footballer Pedro Kamata, now converted into a coach and sports educator on behalf of Profession sport & leisure Auvergne, presented a fun training circuit with several workshops (rowing, yoga, battle rope, etc.) to the delight of the participants present that day.
