_GROUND (pronounced “Underground”) summons Afro-descendant club dances like swing or house, the gestural breeding ground of choreographer Diego “Odd Sweet” Dolciami who pays vibrant homage to these subversive dances that have become a culture in their own right. Underground, when the world falls asleep, communities live and move to the rhythm of music. From swing dances of the twenties to current house dance, these choreographic languages unite. The roots are the same, the music leads the dance and a social dimension unites them. With four performers, Diego Dolciami joyfully draws inspiration from those who have built, thanks to their bodies, a new way of expression. These popular dances draw their inspiration from everyday situations and, like outlets, they allow everyone to express themselves freely. The dancers of _GROUND appropriate the codes, divert them and let their inner worlds express themselves, through the grace of liberated and dancing bodies.
