A driver follows her GPS and does not see a Stop sign in Mars: three injured in a violent collision

A collision between two cars occurred at the intersection of D66 and D70, in Mars, this Saturday, June 29. Three people were injured.

17 firefighters from the Cuinzier, Saint-Denis-de-Cabanne and Charlieu barracks, as well as several crews from the Charlieu gendarmerie, intervened in Mars, this Saturday, June 29 afternoon. Two vehicles violently collided at the intersection of the D66 and D70, at the place called Pont de Fer.

Gravel on the white line

According to information collected on site, the driver of a Mazda Premacy, which was traveling between Villers and Mars, did not hit the stop sign. She hit the Renault Scénic of a couple who were arriving on her right. Not helped by the gravel which partly covered the road markings, the motorist reportedly indicated having followed his GPS and not having seen the Stop sign.The Mazda ended up in the ditch.

In the Renault, a 60-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man, living in Sevelinges, were slightly injured. Both were taken to the Renaison Clinic in Roanne. The owner of the Mazda, a 65-year-old woman living in Riorges, was taken to hospital, also in relative emergency.

Both drivers tested negative for alcohol and drugs.
