The Château de Losmonerie in Aixe-sur-Vienne opens its doors to the public this weekend for the raspberry festival

The raspberry festival is back this weekend of June 29 and 30 at the Château de Losmonerie in Aixe-sur-Vienne.

The clear and melancholic eyes of Nancy Thévenot, immortalized in a youthful portrait painted in 1840, watch over the Château de Losmonerie in Aixe-sur-Vienne.

His face is presented to the public who regularly come to the Aix castle. This weekend of June 29 and 30, the raspberry festival organized for the fourth consecutive year at the estate is a pretext to discover “the house of 1535”, as the descendant of the family and current owner, Guillaume de Villelume, presents it.

Exceptional raspberries in the Remarkable Garden

The latter tells the story of the places decorated with armchairs and Aubusson tapestries from 1750, classified as historical monuments, and Italian paintings from the 18th century that remained hidden under the woodwork before being restored.

The French windows overlook the park, which has been awarded the Remarkable Garden label since last year, with, along the hillsides, the collection of 100 varieties of raspberries that gourmands can taste on this sunny weekend.

The success of the visits relies on word of mouth and the activities offered. This Sunday, June 30, different activities are on the program in the presence of around fifteen Limousin artisans installed on the estate (boxed below).

In the paths of the garden, Jean Tenant, from the Ferme des simples located in Vayres, will tell you the sometimes evil story of the plants, in the heart of nature located very close to a regional nature reserve currently under study at the Syndicate development of the Vienne basin.
