Four young men aged 17 to 19 were indicted on June 27, 2024 in Grenoble for a series of ambushes in Seyssinet-Pariset (Isère), on the coco.gg site, which was closed this week by the French authorities. The suspects were released under judicial supervision, indicated the public prosecutor of Grenoble, Éric Vaillant.
Between November 18 and December 4, 2023, a group of three to seven criminals lured young men they met on the dating site “Coco” into ambushes, where they were molested and robbed of their belongings, including mobile phones and bank cards.
Eight facts recorded
On the night of December 3 to 4, 2023, the gendarmes of the Grenoble company, “thanks to the responsiveness of the event management brigade (BGE) patrols”arrested in the act an individual who had just committed a new atrocities in a group. Later in the day, three other co-authors or accomplices were arrested at their homes. “In total, eight facts including one attempt are thus brought together”the prosecutor stressed.
On December 7, 2023, the four accused were presented to an investigating judge for the opening of a judicial investigation, aimed in particular at identifying and apprehending the rest of the team and recording other facts. The investigation was then entrusted to investigators from the Grenoble research brigade, with the support of the gendarmes of the autonomous territorial brigade of Seyssinet-Pariset and the digital technology correspondents (C-NTECH) of Le Pont-de-Claix and Vif, the magistrate emphasizes.
Two 17-year-old minors
On June 26, 2024, law enforcement, with the support of soldiers from the Grenoble surveillance and intervention platoon (PSIG), arrested four other co-authors or accomplices in the Grenoble metropolitan area: two minors aged 17 and two adults aged 18 and 19. The searches uncovered knives, cell phones, means of payment and equipment for packaging narcotics. The quartet was indicted. Eric Vaillant specified that
“the investigation continues in order to shed light on this series of ambushes and to find possible other accomplices”.
