The Volotea Figari-Brest flight leaves Corsica leaving behind around sixty passengers

There are better conditions for extending your vacation. Around sixty passengers on the Figari-Brest flight, operated by the Spanish company Volotea, saw their plane take off without them, around 8:25 a.m., this Saturday, June 29, 2024. “The plane would have taken off with only the passengers who had not no checked baggage. The others remained stuck in Corsica at the airport,” reports Emmanuelle Guil, a passenger grounded in Corsica. The plane landed in Brest at 10:21 a.m., even four minutes ahead of schedule.

Around 4:30 p.m., passengers were informed that the company was looking to charter a plane to Paris in the evening, then a bus to Brest. “I might as well tell you, we didn’t return to Brest,” sighed Emmanuelle Guil.

No more customer service at 2 p.m.

A problem with the baggage belt was mentioned to the passengers who were unable to board the plane. In Figari, the flight to Brest was only 25 minutes late at take-off, but as the day went on, the delays visibly lengthened. The Corsican airport website showed significant delays for all flights, sometimes up to two hours. This Saturday, the offices at Figari airport could not be reached.

Emmanuelle Guil also deplores the lack of information from the Volotea company. “We have been here since 6 a.m. and are stuck with no solution. Among us, there are babies a few months old, we are not even offered a glass of water! » Passengers tried in vain to contact Volotea customer service, which closed on Saturdays at 2 p.m. Contacted by email in the afternoon, the company’s press service had not yet been able to obtain a reaction from management.
